The Bitterroot Star recently highlighted the City's launch of the zoning code update process. We encourage you to read Nathan Boddy's informative write-up, starting halfway through the Web page (link below).
Led by the Zoning Commission, the City looks to amend its municipal code to implement its updated comprehensive plan, address housing

Background
In August 2022, Hamilton adopted its Comprehensive Plan (aka growth policy) Envision Hamilton, which updated City policies for growth, infrastructure, housing, and more. That planning process and a recent zoning code assessment have both recommended that the City update its Zoning Code and Zoning Map to meet community goals. The process is kicking off in earnest in January 2023. City Staff estimate it will take roughly a year to finalize a new code.
How to get involved
The City invites the public to engage by workshopping zoning code updates, commenting on draft proposals, and participating in public hearings before the Zoning Commission and City Council.
